Udon in Paris
Come and join this most Parisian, according to the long cues, tradition: Udon on sundays in the area around Rue Sainte-Anne, the little japanese cluster in the heart of the French capital.
Cues are not always a bad thing, because to conservatives like us, our favourite Kunitoraya seemed an obvious choice, but those fifteen people ahead seemed like an enormous obstacle to a much needed Udon after a night of party, and weather did not encourage either.
A little walk clears thoughts every time, in this case especially, and we came by Udon Jubey right when a big group was walking out, perfect timing!
The open kitchen is a heart-warming sight at any latitude, japanese Paris no exception.
The daily menu includes omelette,
friture du jour, and a bowl of chicken rice with vegetables
Our much desired Udon
with a can of Kirin, a blessing at that time of the sunday.
I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere downstairs, and I decided I will visit Udon Jubey again, on purpose this time.
