If the Devil lies in the details
….we don’t care much anyway, but it is kind of funny that so many, if not all, visitors of Venice miss a very peculiar detail on display right under their noses, well, above their heads.
There is a golden head, right by the Rialto bridge, a head with a story: it used to be the sign of a pharmacy, the pharmacy “of the Golden Head”, legacy of dire times when even in a city of merchants literacy was not so common, and if you had to look for a random cure for a disease that no doctor had a clue how to treat, at least you could be able to find the pharmacy’s sign without having taken reading classes.
On the way to San Marco, after you cross the bridge of Rialto, make sure you won’t miss the detail!
